The Garden Shaker
This 1910 Devonport bungalow was ready for a thoughtful transformation. The existing kitchen no longer supported the needs of the family, so we took the opportunity to rework the layout and enhance its connection to the outdoors. Two new windows were introduced to frame views of the garden while the refrigerator and pantry were relocated to create a more functional flow.
With the spatial planning resolved, the design direction centred on a traditional style favoured by our clients. Reeded glass paired with oak cabinetry within, a classic butler’s sink, and brass hardware all lend to this aesthetic.
The result is a kitchen that feels entirely at home within its original character and suited to modern family life.

“Margaux made sure everything happened as planned. She's got high expectations of her tradies, but they still love working with her - and so did we!”
Opening the kitchen to the garden has made the space lighter, brighter, and more connected. A natural palette - from inky green cabinetry to Calacatta Gold bench tops - extends the outdoor tones inside, creating a seamless flow between interior and garden.
